Join members of the League of Women Voters Mt Pleasant Area and other community members for a showing of “Suffragette” and conversation about current voting related topics.
“Suffragette” is a historical drama about women’s suffrage in the United Kingdom. The struggle for voting rights in the UK parallels the movement for women’s enfranchisement in the United States. Fast forward to 2025 in the US, we’re fighting to retain voting rights as well as other constitutional rights.
Following the movie, there will be conversation about various voting topics, emphasis will be on “Know What You Sign”. Important information will be shared about the various petitions Michigan voters are being asked to sign.
